Traditions

In contrast to other Lodges, Brethren of School Lodges are permitted to wear their respective Club ties in their own Lodge and also when visiting other School Lodges.

The Lodge Bible (Volume of the Sacred Law) is signed by each new Worshipful Master during his Installation Ceremony.

A toast to the School is always included at the Festive Board followed by the School Song (Carmen), always sung with great pride.

60th Anniversary

A recent highlight was the 60th Anniversary meeting of the Lodge on 20th September 2006. To commemorate the occasion a specially designed Banner displaying the OPM crest, school motto and familiar masonic symbols, was dedicated by the Provincial Grand Master for Devonshire. A most interesting oration was given by the Provincial Assistant Grand Chaplain, himself an OPM. 82 Masons attended this celebratory occasion. At the banquet afterwards, toasts were given to the Founders of the Lodge and to the School and the Carmen was sung with great gusto, the words being printed on the menu cards for the benefit of non-OPMs.
